Dear Fresno Central Church,
We are so grateful to all of you for your faith, patience and courage throughout this year as the Covid-19 pandemic has brought necessary changes and restructuring of our church life. We know that everyone misses seeing one another in person, and we feel the loss profoundly.
It is also true that the world is in crisis and many are fearful for their lives. This is the time we should be praying humbly and earnestly for a spiritual revival and awakening. This is the time we must be praying for the fulfillment of God’s message to prepare to receive the latter rain of the Holy Spirit as predicted in the book of Joel chapter 2.
If ever there was a time in history that we should be urgently seeking a spiritual awakening, it is now. Recognizing our great need for a deeper consecration and communion with God, we would like to encourage you to stay connected with our church family. Contact our church if you don’t have a prayer partner or invite someone to pray with you. You can also form your own prayer group. The goal is for our congregation to stay spiritually connected and united in prayer. There is power in United Prayer! Matthew 18: 19-20 says “Again, I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the mist of them.
While COVID-19 countermeasures are in effect, small Prayer Groups will have to meet virtually via "Zoom" videoconference. We have created an online Prayer Room where our members can have easy access to a private and secure online room for prayer. Here is the link to access the online Prayer Room: http://fresnocentralsda.org/prayer/we-pray
As our church Prayer Ministry Coordinator, I have formed a prayer group. We call ourselves Fresno Central Prayer Team. This group is committed to faithfully meet every Sabbath at 8:00 am to have a devotional and to pray for the needs of our members and for a spiritual awakening among us. Currently we are meeting via Zoom. We encourage you to make sure you are praying with someone, if possible, make sure you are part of a prayer group. Also, it may not be safe for anyone to be isolated during these trying times. If you need anything, please contact our church at: 559-233-1171 or use our Prayer Ministry email: prayer@fresnocentralsda.org.
The “Prayer Ministry” section of our church website is under construction. Once completed, it will have links to numerous resources, announcements of upcoming events programmed by our local church and our worldwide church that will help you stay connected and grow spiritually.
We are here to support you, to pray for you and encourage you. Remember that even in the mist of the current events, “...sweetly to us, as to the first disciples, comes the assurance that God’s kingdom rules overall. The program of coming events is in the hands of our Maker. The majesty of heaven has the destiny of nations, as well as the concerns of His church, in His own charge.” Prayer, p 303 EGW
With kind Christian regards,
Mary Melton
