A new series of video messages from Pastor Gouveia
This is a series of Bible studies I've developed along the years of my ministry.
The 9th of a series of Bible studies by Pastor Gouveia called 70 Weeks of Mercy.
Watch it and share it with others.
The Bible has a lot to say about marriage and family! And that's the focus of the eight Bible study in this series "The Word of the Cross." In these Bible studies I share the truths of the Bible centering each one in the sacrifice of Jesus.
In the Bible, God reveals Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a unity of three divine co-eternal persons. This is the wonderful topic of the seventh Bible study in my series "The Word of the Cross."
The Word of the Cross, #5: The Gospel
I just published a new Bible study in my series "The Word of the Cross." This one is on the central teaching of Scripture: "The Gospel." Would you be so kind in helping me promote this video by watching it, leaving a comment, a like, and also by sharing it with a friend?

In case you are interested, here's why I believe this series of Bible studies is important.
Many years ago, while I was still a theology student, I was on the top of a mountain in France one day, praying right before the sunrise. As I finished praying I stood up and looked at the glorious light appearing from behind the snowy top of the famous Mont Blanc, that I could see at a distance. The words of Malachi 4:2 came immediately to my mind:
"But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings..."
Malachi 4:2 NKJV
I prayed and said to God: "Lord, will I be ready for the Second Coming of Jesus?" At that exact moment I saw two airplanes flying above my head, just a little bit over to the right side of where I was standing, making a perfect cross in the sky with the white trails that they were leaving behind. I knelt down again on the green grass with thanksgiving in my heart. I knew the Lord was telling me: "Son, you want to be ready for the second coming? Look at the Cross."
This was probably one of the many ways that God used to draw my attention to the Cross of Christ. As Seventh-day Adventists, we have been pulled in every direction concerning this topic. But Jesus was merciful enough to help me come back over and over to the simple, yet so powerful declarations of Scripture. These provide the best explanation given to human minds concerning Christ's death and its meaning.
Twenty years after that beautiful morning in France, after writing two theses on the subject, I still believe I need to look at the Cross and preach it faithfully, and now more than ever as many are preaching an unbiblical gospel. This Bible study series that I am recording and putting on YouTube strives to present what Seventh-day Adventists believe from the Bible, while centering each doctrine on the Cross. This is what Seventh-day Adventist ministers are instructed to do every time we preach, or give a Bible study:
"Of all professing Christians, Seventh-day Adventists should be foremost in uplifting Christ before the world. The proclamation of the third angel's message calls for the presentation of the Sabbath truth. This truth, with others included in the message, is to be proclaimed; but the great center of attraction, Christ Jesus, must not be left out. It is at the cross of Christ that mercy and truth meet together, and righteousness and peace kiss each other. The sinner must be led to look to Calvary; with the simple faith of a little child he must trust in the merits of the Saviour, accepting His righteousness, believing in His mercy." GW, 156.
"Some workers in the cause of God have been too ready to hurl denunciations against the sinner; the love of the Father in giving His Son to die for the race, has been kept in the background. Let the teacher of truth make known to the sinner what God really is,—a Father waiting with yearning love to receive the returning prodigal, not hurling at him accusations of wrath, but preparing a feast to welcome his return. O that we might all learn the way of the Lord in winning souls!" GW, 157.
"More people than we think are longing to find the way to Christ. Those who preach the last message of mercy should bear in mind that Christ is to be exalted as the sinner's refuge. Some ministers think that it is not necessary to preach repentance and faith; they take it for granted that their hearers are acquainted with the gospel, and that matters of a different nature must be presented in order to hold their attention. But many people are sadly ignorant in regard to the plan of salvation; they need more instruction upon this all-important subject than upon any other. GW 158.
Theoretical discourses are essential, that people may see the chain of truth, link after link, uniting in a perfect whole; but no discourse should ever be preached without presenting Christ and Him crucified as the foundation of the gospel." GW 158.

Thank you in advance for watching these studies and sharing them with your family and friends!
"To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen."
Revelation 1:5-7 NKJV
